Joseph Zins made his professional debut to critical acclaim at the age of seventeen as the winner of the prestigious Young Pianist Competition of the Indiana State Symphony Society. In addition to 15 subsequent solo appearances with the Indianapolis Symphony before the age of twenty-two, he has also appeared as a soloist with many other orchestras and concertized widely as soloist, duo-pianist and chamber player in works ranging from Bach to Messiaen. Dr. Zins has taught at the University of Louisville, the University of Arizona, the University of Texas-El Paso, Gustavus Adolphus College and Macalester College. His students have excelled in numerous competitions and auditions. Presently he shares an independent studio with his wife where he specializes in the training of young gifted pianists.
