Jeanne Doty, Assistant Professor of Music at the University of Minnesota Duluth, holds a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Accompanying and Coaching from the University of Minnesota, studying with Margo Garrett. She also has a Certificate in Dalcroze Eurhythmics from Carnegie Mellon University. Highly respected as a collaborative pianist, Jeanne also plays violin. A committed teacher, Jeanne has been the recipient of the Access for All/Access Center's faculty recognition award. She has taught orchestra in the Virginia and Duluth public schools. Many former students credit her with being most influential in their musical and personal development. At UMD, Jeanne teaches applied piano and related courses, theory aural skills, and coaches chamber music.
