His solo performing has taken him throughout the
East and Midwest, most recently appearing as Guest Artist of the
University of South Dakota's Keyboard Days. In November 2002, Dr. Wirth
will perform in Atlanta as part of the First Presbyterian Church concert
series.
A creative promoter of the art of piano
performance, Wirth's energies have also extended to the writing and
performance of The Magic Boot, a comical farce in which he impersonates
Mozart; and The Age of Romanticism in which
he transports his audience to the 19th century.
He was the featured speaker at the 1998 MMTA
state-wide Convention and
at both the Iowa and Texas
state conventions in June of 1999.
He is a regular clinician at the University of St. Thomas (MN) summer
institute. In addition, Dr Wirth regularly appears as guest lecturer at
piano teachers local and regional organizations.
A nationally known teacher who has taught numerous
prize-winning students of regional, national and international
competitions, he is also a supporter of young performers, having
co-founded Salon se Leve concert series in St Paul.
Dr. Wirth maintains three studios: at the Central
Minnesota Music School in St. Cloud, MN, at the Metropolitan Piano Gallery in
the St Paul, MN, and at his home
in St. Joseph, MN where he lives with his wife Kathy and two sons, Justin
and Jordan. |
